Prof.Ramamurthi worked as Adjunct Faculty at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Dept.of Medicine, Clinical Research Center, UMDNJ, New Brunswick, New Jersey (2000-2003).  He served as visiting Professor at Simon Fraser University (British Columbia, Canada, 1985), New Jersey Medical School, UMDNJ, Newark, New Jersey (1988,1991,2000), University of Bonn, Germany (1994),  UGC Visiting Professor, University of Madras.

Prof.R.Ramamurthi is a recipient of Best Teacher’s Award of Andhra Pradesh Govt., 1991, K.N. Bahl gold medal for outstanding contributions to life sciences.,1995 and Golden Jubilee medal of Zoological Society of India for contributions to the field of Environmental Sciences, Presented by Governor of Bihar,1997.  Distinguished IFAS Scholar of University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences,2002.  R.C.Merhotra Lifetime Achievement Award of ISCA presented by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on Jan 3 2010 and Sir Asutosh Mukherjee Gold medal presented by Hon’ble Prime Minister-Jan 2011.  He has authored eight books i.e., ……
