Sri.Uday Shankar was Former Director-AFPRO, New Delhi.
He served the poor through AFPRO from 1974 to 2003 in different capacities in different States as Ground water Geophysicist, Team Leader and Head of Programme Department.
Development consultant for NOVIB and other International agencies and a renowned person in the field of Watershed development throughout the country. He is on the Board of Trustees of WASSAN, Hyderabad He has been associated with AGS since 2002. He has been actively involved in promotes watershed programme in India, implemented Rural water supply and Sanitation programme and Rural Energy Programme in India in collaboration with Various International organisations, GOI and various State Governments.
He has promoted good Governance and Accountability and Transparency within Registered Societies, Trusts and CBOs as per Indian Laws.
